Two tragic incidents have occurred in India this month. Lethal ingredients were added to home made liquor. Authorities say it is usually rubbing alcohol or methanol. Methanol has been linked to these incidents according to links below. As little as 10 cc's will cause permanent blindness. See the third link for information.
Patients become very sick and die a bad death. 150 have died and more than 200 remain in hospitals. These numbers are subject to change as the full scope of the poisoning is still under investigation. 14 people have been arrested so far in the production of the tainted alcohol. The people affected here were poor tea plantation workers.
