California fires (Update)

At least 31 people have died in 17 wild fires fires.  More than 180 have been reported missing. Hopefully, this will decrease as people call in to family. This number is expected to grow. At this time, over 100 are being treated for fire related injuries. High winds coupled with dry conditions have fueled these fires.  Infrastructure has been threatened in some areas.  A state of emergency has been declared in 8 counties.  More than 160,00 acres are affected.

The fires are devastating. 3,500 homes and commercial buildings have been destroyed in just 12 hours. Around 25,000 have been evacuated. None of the fires are contained.  Death, injury, and destruction will only rise before these fires are over.

Pray for the dead and their families and friends. If you do not pray, please keep them in your positive thoughts. There is another group that needs your prayers or inclusion in your positive thoughts. The people who have lost everything and have no idea of what to do or where to go

Multiple earthquake hits Mexico---UPDATES

Multiple earthquake's  have recently struck Mexico, Tuesday night. It affected Mexico City, Puebla and Morelos in Mexico. Over 318 are dead are currently dead. There is no count of the injured. This will be ongoing as bodies are discovered and the injured seek care. The epicenter of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake was about 55 miles from the city of Puebla in Puebla state.  This comes comes over a week after a 8.1 earthquake had struck off the southern coast of the country. The damage is catastrophic in some areas.

Pray for the victims of the earthquake. Also pray for their families and friends. If you do not pray, please keep them in your positive thoughts.

Remember the survivors. Children on up to adults may exhibit signs of needing psychological help. Be there for them and help them in their search for help. See the links below for two sites that  I found. There are many more.

People want to help after this kind of disaster. I could not find a site for this. Research and find a Mexican consulate. Ask what donation are acceptable and where to send them. If it is money, be sure to write on check or money order what it is for. Include the name of the agency it is being sent to on the check or money order. Also find and call Catholic charities and see if they are helping. Follow the same guidelines listed above. There are more but at this early hour I could not find them.
