How does that make our nation great again?

I could not believe what I read in the links below.  Newt Gingrich believes the laws on ethics should be changed for President-elect Trump.  Gingrich felt that he (Trump) is ultra wealthy and should not be held to the same standards of ethics as other Presidents.  It is too hard for him.  I ask "Why is he to be President?" if current ethics are too hard for him.

The office of President is the highest in our country. He sets the standards for the nation. Why lower the standards? How does that make our nation great again?  The laws on ethics are there for a purpose. The actions of the President should always be open and beyond reproach.

Newt Gingrich gives a reason why.  President-elect Trump has the power to give pardons.  He can just issue a pardon for himself and others. It makes my chest hurt to think about that possibility and consequence.

I watched news feeds and read information from the following links before blogging.

Governor McCrory of North Carolina, HB972 an HB2 are not badges of courage

I did not know what the Governor of North Carolina looked like. While doing research on this situation, I found his picture on the fourth  link below to be what I thought a person who would sign these bills looked like. His signing of HB2 to make males and females go to a bathroom of the sex listed on their birth certificate made no sense. It is what I expect  from politicians in power.  Even though they are elected by all, they serve only a few that think as they do. Religious influence in government and the law is against Federal law.

Transgender people have been going to the bathroom of their choice for a long time. What are the stats on bathroom Peeping Toms and  assaults before the bill? What are the stats so far? Does a comparison of the same time frame in months show a increase, decrease, or no change? What this bill has done is give perverts their type of dream. They want to volunteer to work as bathroom police. That way they don't get into trouble for asking men to drop their drawers or women to raise their skirts and drop their panties,  I have heard this conversation more than I care to count both online and off line.

Governor Pat McCrory has reacted to another situation. HB972 has been signed into law. It is supposed to strike a balance. The theory is to improve public trust and respect rights of officers. The bill severely restricts who can see the body cam videos. The person who is in charge of the area the incident happened does not have to give a reason that is valid or not as to why they deny access to police body cams.  Your law removes transparency in police and public interactions. It is balanced 90% in favor of police. There is no taking into account one very important variable. Poor people have just as much tenacity as rich people. They just do not have the money to pay their way through all the steps. So the poor are out of luck in trying to obtain justice in North Carolina.

This bill also raises a very important question. Why are North Carolina law enforcement officials afraid of anybody seeing what they do?   Some statements that I was told as a child comes to mind.  "Absolute power corrupts absolutely."Be afraid of any who hold absolute power. Your ability to remain alive depends on it. Cops have always scared me.  Now more so than ever.

THE GOVERNOR NEEDS TO GET REAL AND FIRE HIS HANDLERS. The hostility from the public does not come from police body camera videos being shown.  It came from personal phone cams. The cop who pulled his gun from his holster in Louisiana  (which was out of the victims reach)  and shot the black man was cool as a cucumber. His reasoning would be unique. Was his camera working? Evidently not. Personal phone cams show his actions.

As far as the Minnesota policeman  killing, don't shoot a man reaching for the drivers license you asked for.  If you see a gun, SHOUT FREEZE. Coming from a policeman, it freezes the blood. That added step would have allowed him to see a supposed permit allowing the man to carry a gun. It would have allowed him to find out the person was a felon and is not allowed to touch a gun or be in a car with some one who has one.Where is his camera footage? This would have stopped most if not all of the demonstrations.  A personal phone cam showed his actions. By-the-way, his child and woman were in the car.
