Tigers are a force not to be ignored

In India there is a wild tiger population. Humans have been encroaching on their habitat. Since 2016 a tigress has killed 13 people. See the stats below. It seems that tigers and wild elephants kill at least one human a day.

The Indian government had ordered the people inside before dark. In an area of day laborer's, people were not getting paid. Starvation was getting to be a real possibility.

India has set rules to handle man eaters. Deviation is allowed when the life of the hunter is threatened. The tigress was spotted. An attempt was made to dart the tigress. She was darted but charged humans. She was put down to save human life.

Animal activists tried to say that the tiger should not have been shot. I do not want people eaten alive by anything. Those that could not work to earn money would have starved and that is a slower death. I am for the animal 95% of the time except when people are in danger. Then human life comes first.

I watched news feeds and read information from the following links before blogging.
