Senator Paul Ryan is just like President Donald Trump in one aspect. He has no concern that his actions will be disastrous for those on Medicare. He gave an interview with Fox News. There was something that he made perfectly clear. He talked about part of the legislative bacchanal Republicans planned. A Medicare phase out that Paul Ryan has long advocated will begin if he has anything to do with it.
Senator Ryan and President Trump need to get over their "bad" self. Already the elderly will lose Meals-on-Wheels. Before both of you open your mouths and say your letting the states pick this up, think. If the states could have afforded it, they would have. It is mental illness to actively choose to get involved with Federal Government red tape. Not everybody is that crazy. So the poorest elderly who only eat once a day Monday through Friday can die quickly.
Now, you have thought of a way to do away with the slightly better off elderly. Lets just take away their Medicare. At one time, I was upper middle class. I even owned property. Life happens. My son was born with a medical problem. I left the hospital with a $66,000 dollar bill. That was what insurance did not cover. I tried to do the right thing and pay off my bills. Everything was sold and still there were bills. These keep growing. Insurance dropped me. I could never afford to pay 400 a month minimum with insurance having the option to increase as needed.
Let me tell you about the voucher program you want to use. Got them as a form of insurance at one job I had. Nobody but nobody accepts them after the TV camera crews go away. To save on the electric bill, I used them to light the wood I had gathered to start a grill fire at a free campground. Learned early how to cook rice on a grill.
I need an insulin pump. After I jump through hoops, get a Dr. to fill out tons of paperwork, roll in the dirt, and howl at the moon, I might get approved. That means I must come up with thousands on my own first. I have no means to get my hands on 4 to 10 thousand. That was the prices quoted to me years ago. If I could, then I would have to get a DR. to fill out the paperwork. Most won't touch Medicare paperwork. I use Medicare Part D to pay for my insulin.
Now Paul Ryan is using President Donald Trump to Phase out Medicare. I lived poorly without Insulin for 2 years once. Woke up vomiting. Went through the day feeling like a horse kicked me due to stomach cramps. Living with a To Do list written with a magic marker so I could see it. Without a detailed list, i forgot what needed to be done. Setting an alarm clock for every two hours. I didn't want to drown in my own vomit. In between times, I would try to sip water. Did My eyes get damaged? Yes. Did other organs get damaged? Yes. When I had asked the state that I lived in for help. I was repeatedly told that it was not the states problem but mine.
I have other medical problems. When Part D goes away, my health will decline further. I will fight this a different way. Due to a broken back, I can't stand for long. So no demonstrations, that just annoys people. I should live for a year or two after Senator Ryan takes away Medicare. I plan to video record my decline. Then I plan to send them to every news outlet that will accept them. It will have a label. Most likely - Death courtesy Of Senator Paul Ryan. I encourage others to tape their decline if its from lack of food or medication. They should send the tape to whom they deem appropriate.
Now, as for lack of money for Medicare. Everybody has money for that deducted from their pay check. When I could get anyone to talk to me, I asked, where is it? I was always told that it was put into other funds. It was never planned to go into a fund for Medicare only. If anyone but the government did that, they would be charged with fraud and put under the jail. Doesn't seem right or fare.

One response that I received from an official still bothers me. "It is not the Government's problem that you need help. Live as long as you can and as best as you know how." Stopped worrying about paying my part of Medicare after speaking with financial assistance at a local hospital. Told him to pull up my records and look at my financial sheet. Where can I get the money when I have no money was what I asked him. I told them in the emergency room that I had no money. They admitted me anyway. He listened and told me it was not the hospitals problem or his. I was told that I could work a street corner or my son could "hustle." I hung up.
I now believe firmly that Everyone in the three branches of government should have a complete mental health examination for every term of service.. It should be done by the lead Doctor at a psychiatric teaching institution.
This should be done in a secure office at the White House. Those that fail, should be given a medical leave for 3 months and reevaluated. If they pass, they go back to work and say what ever pleases them to explain their absence. Those that fail again should be resigned and escorted home. No written records are to be kept outside a locked vault at Fort Knox. Each term examination to be conducted by a different lead Doctor of a psychiatric teaching institution.
The last thing is a MRI of the brain needs to be done.. The area needed to be seen and evaluated is the supra marginal gyrus. I have seen so many actions done with a cold;cruel attitude from members of the government. This area of the brain controls empathy and compassion. Theirs must be damaged.
